Getting an earful

Spent a pleasant morning chatting with the seniors and staff at the Hackensack Senior Center. They really took me up on my suggestion to tell me what was on their mind. I took away a rather lengthy list of tasks, all of which were cataloged before lunch was served and bingo started. The seniors very much appreciated that I had my/their priorities in order.

East Rutherford Senior Center

They are the Giants!!

Joined the members of the East Rutherford Senior Center for a discussion on County Programs. I was once again impressed with the staff's dedication and the great questions asked. The food was delicious too!!

Building Bridges

Joined Mayor Sam Raia and his professional staff at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the Lower Cross Road Bridge Over the Saddle River. The combined efforts of the Borough of Saddle River and Bergen County led up to this great event on behalf of the citizens of Saddle River. Great job by all...!!!

 

 

 

More than a stroll in the park!

Joined Elmwood Park Mayor, Dick Mola and Bergen County Parks Director, Ron Kistner along with other professionals and residents on an inspection tour of Artesian Fields County Park. Much was discussed about tree trimming, park path restoration and future improvements. Looking forward to visiting soon again after the modifications are completed.

Can you help a veteran?!

Was honored to presented the American Flag that was flown at Camp Sabalu-Harrison, Bagram Afganistan by U.S. Army Captain, Christopher Valacer, a returning hero who fought terrorist forces threatening our freedoms. He and his fellow veterans were appreciative of the resolution passed by the Bergen County Freeholders supporting legislation to ensure that veterans are given greater opportunities for employment. — with Christopher Valacer at VFW Post 2342 Fort Lee, NJ.

Tax Advocate Award to Bergen County Sheriff Mike Saudino

Presented the Taxpayer Advocate Award to Bergen County Sheriff Mike Saudino. Under Sheriff Saudino's leadership the taxpayer has saved over $2.5 million through prudent budget cuts and significant overtime reductions. Bravo Sheriff Mike!!

Job Growth Through Business Development

Along with Bergen County Economic Development Corp Director, Rob Garrison, we welcomed a group of business leaders from the Turkish-American Community. County EDC programs were explained in detail with the goal of helping them in any way we can to spur private sector job growth and business development.
