Friends & Family Day....

at Community Baptist Church. I felt like family with many friends! The adult choir was phenomenal but the kids were in a league of their own.

In pursuit of jobs....

.....and business growth was the agenda for today's meeting with the NJ Korean American Chamber of Commerce. A big thanks to Chamber President Mark Park for initiating the dialogue and Economic Development Corp Director, Maggie Peters, for setting the stage for future growth programs.

Is it the TRUTH? Is it FAIR to all concerned? Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

These are the guiding principles for all Rotarians and were on full display by the Fort Lee Rotarians at the Bergen County Housing, Health and Human Services Center in Hackensack. Bravo!!

POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremony

In the United States, National POW/MIA Recognition Day is observed on the third Friday in September. It honors those who were prisoners of war and those who are still missing in action. This year Bergen County honored Robert Levine, Norman Fellman and John Fusaro (Posthumous). Their stories of courage and patriotism defines the true meaning of American Exceptionalism.

It's great being a Freeholder because....

I get to celebrate Thanksgiving twice a year. Today I joined in the festivities at the Palisades Park and Ridgefield Senior Centers. The Korean Harvest Moon Festival called “Chusok” is over 2,000 years old, but it is now also sometimes referred to as “Korean Thanksgiving” because it is the traditional time for Koreans to thank their ancestors for the year's harvest. Doesn't it sound familiar?!

A Great Tradition Continues!

For many years Bergen County has hosted a Senior Citizen Picnic at one of our great parks. This year we returned to Van Saun Park in Paramus. While our Seniors were treated to delicious food, fairly nice weather and an opportunity to catch up with old friends, this is also a day when politicians have a chance to shake a bunch of hands and distribute our "why vote for me" literature. I must say, a great time was had by all. Finally, kudos to the County staff and volunteers who did an incredible job (again) putting this event together!

Glamour Gals Come to Bright Side Manor

When you start thinking that our youth are spending too much time on their electronic devices, think again. The Glamour Gals from Bergen Academies spent their free time at Bright Side Manor in Teaneck doing nails and makeup for the assisted living residents. What a great program!!
