What really is important!

Visited my friends at the Turkish American Religious Foundation located directly across the street from my Church of the Epiphany in Cliffside Park. While the issue of Syria did not escape our focus, we spent more time discussing how we can best accommodate their parking needs for their Friday service. Now that was important diplomacy!

It all starts with leadership-The Governor!

The Stony Hill Inn was rocking with the Governor's message of job growth, business development and lower taxes. The food was great and the people even better. Onto victory!!

More than Friendship!

Spent an afternoon with the staff and students at Friendship House in Hackensack. North Jersey Friendship House is a non-profit rehabilitation center offering comprehensive behavioral health services, pre-vocational and vocational training and employment support for adults with varying disabilities. Spectacular!!

The Greatest Generation

Spent lunchtime with the seniors and staff at the Northwest Bergen Senior Center in Midland Park. They were happy to hear that an ongoing bus trip destination misunderstanding has been clarified. I thanked them for this persistence on this issue and that they really deserved the credit for straightening it out. I think they knew that!!

Historical Bergen County

The historical treasures tucked away in Bergen County never cease to amaze me. Spent a wonderful afternoon with the enthusiastic staff of the Pascack Historical Society Museum in Park Ridge. Worth the visit!!

Celebrating the End of British Rule

Independence is a great gift to celebrate. Joined in the festivities with my friends from the Indo-American Community celebrating 66 years of liberty in their former homeland. Let freedom ring!

Say it in song!

As part of the 68th anniversary celebration remembering Korean independence from Japan, I was privileged to listen to many professional artists sing and play the night away. The event was held at Pine Plaza in Palisades Park, a favorite location for many important Korean-American events. Freedom was the theme with the hope that their cousins in the North can one day enjoy the blessings of liberty.

On Eagle's Wings

Met with Bergen County Audubon Society President Don Torino, and at a distance with bald eagles, Alice and Al. These two great symbols of our nation are a rare sight indeed but may also be in danger because of a proposed development project in Ridgefield Park. I'm gathering the facts and will work diligently with all parties to bring this issue to happy conclusion.

Developing Future Leaders

The Bergen County Boys & Girls Club(s) held their Summer Olympic Games on this beautiful summer day in Lodi. Brought back many memories of my Boys Club days of yesterday year. The speeches were purposely kept short because this was the kids' day. I hope this starts a trend.
